Protection against tear gas

 

Remember these important points for protecting yourself from tear gas and dealing with exposure if you encounter it. 

Prevention: 

  • Wear a mask, scarf, goggles, and long clothing to cover your skin.

  • Avoid using contact lenses and eye makeup. 

 

Initial Steps Upon Exposure:

  • Quickly leave the area.

  • Remove your clothing and hat. 

  • Avoid rubbing your eyes. 

  • Rinse your eyes thoroughly with water. 

 

Subsequent Actions:

  • Remove and wash contaminated clothing. 

  • Take a shower. 

  • Use respiratory medications if necessary. 

 

When to Seek Medical Attention?

  • Severe shortness of breath 

  • Blueness around the lips 

  • Drooling 

  • Difficulty swallowing.
